“My tent was imbued with the soothing blue light coming from the few candles lit in the corners, casting the irregular-shaped shadows our bodies made on the draped walls. I sat on the ground in front of him and felt the silence weigh heavier and heavier as he avoided my eyes, staring only at my feet.
