Hello! My name is pronounced Rachelle, I’m a Montreal artist, musician and writer. My pronouns are she/her. I love weird and magical things.
In a nutshell…
As an adolescent and in my young-adult life, I spent a lot of time playing guitar, skateboarding, writing poetry, songs lyrics, and hip-hop rhymes. I also drew a lot. This led me to study fine arts in Matane, Quebec (where I grew up) and then Kelowna, British Columbia. After a hop, skip and a jump in Ottawa where I experimented with spray paint, I returned to my birth city of Montreal, Quebec and wrote my first music album under the band name August Elliot. During this time I married and had my first child. I spent a good part of the next decade honing my drawing and painting skills under the wing of the Argentinian painter Alejandro Boim, all while co-writing music for my second album with my husband, gigging, working as a graphic illustrator, and giving life to a second child. Around 2010, I began writing novels, a dream since childhood. I have four books on the market and my fifth, Lavender Spike, has been published June 2026 with the amazing Canadian publisher ECW Press.
I currently live in Montreal with my husband and two grown children, whom we homeshooled. Thanks for stopping by! xx
Salut! Mon nom est Rachel. Je suis une artiste-peintre, musicienne et écrivaine montréalaise.
En quelques mots…
Comme adolescente et jeune adulte, j’ai passé beaucoup de temps à jouer de la guitare, faire du skate, écrire de la poésie, des paroles de chansons, et des rhymes de hip hop. Je passais aussi beaucoup de temps à gribouiller. Ceci m’a menée aux études en arts plastiques à Matane (où j’ai grandit) et ensuite en Colombie-Britannique. À mon retour à ma ville natale de Montréal, Québec, j’ai écrit et enregistré mon premier album de musique sous le nom de August Elliot. Durant ce temps, je me suis mariée et donné naissance à mon premier enfant. Les prochaines années furent consacrées à maîtriser le dessin et la peinture sous l’aile du peintre argentin Alejandro Boim, tout en écrivant un deuxième album de musique, jouant des shows, travaillant en tant qu’illustratrice graphique, et mettant au monde un deuxième enfant. Finalement vers 2010 j’ai commencé à écrire mon premier roman, un rêve depuis l’enfance. J’ai maintenant 4 livres sur le marché et mon 5e est sorti avec la maison d’édition canadienne ECW Press en juin 2026.
